Mary Ann Park Brockbank
Mary Ann Park Brockbank died at the home of my grandparents, Charles and Louise Brockbank Reynolds at Murray, Utah on the 18th of August, 1941. I was but three years and 8 months old at the time; yet I remember the phone call that came that morning to our home in Holladay; and I remember on occasion visiting her with my parents and sitting on her lap. Today, I muse that the engraving of that memory in one so young would only have occurred because of the respect and reverence bestowed upon this great lady by my immediate family, and my grandparents, Charles and Louise, and the impression of how singular the meaning had for me to be so closely allied with her personage. She entered the Salt Lake Valley in 1847 as a four year old and lived to be honored as the very last living of the original Mormon Pioneers.
